Despite the actions of some - who go against the teachings of Islam - Islam is a religion of peace; the word “islam” means “peace through submission to God.” “Muslim” means “one who submits to God.” Islam is the third of the three Abrahamic faiths, and it shares much with Judaism in Christianity; its differences are the acceptance of Muhammad as the last and final prophet, and the oneness of God - in other words, that Jesus, though he was a revered prophet, was not in fact God, and only one God exists. Apparently the Taliban could not read (though their name means “students”), because the Qur’an states that men and women are equal as believers, and that all believers should be educated and seek knowledge. Modesty in dress and behavior is required in Islam for both men and women to preserve the values of society and move the emphasis from superificial appearance to intelligence, knowledge, and God.

Objection your honour!
1. Muslims resisting or fighting for their own liberation & not getting a political voice or support(it is never there) are slyly included in the list of Islamic -whatever term hits the educated minds world over-.
2. If we say Taliban “couldn’t read” we are a believer in Bush rather than the much touted Allah. Talibans angered the lords in Afghanistan since they ordered burning of Opium fields. Americans attacked them since they needed a scapegoat to satisfy their ego.
– All Gods ask for sacrifice, so do the Americans –
3. If we call Musa’s religion as Judaism, Eesa’s Christianity, then Muslims are better called Muhammadans(Mohamedans).
4. Other faiths don’t call Christ a God, rather a son of God.
5. Then, others would not be wrong in objecting that modesty is a relative term, so why insist on hijaab. Hence Islam also defines ‘modesty’. For people, concept of modesty in dressing is often inversly proportional to education, and directly proportional to belief.

اردودان ميں آپکے نقطہ نظر سے متفق ہوں۔ مگر يہ جو کچہ اوپر لکھا ہے وہ ميرے نہيں بلکے اس سوالنامے بنانے والوں کے خيالات ہيں اور مغرب ميں کافی عرصے تک مسلمانوں کو محمدن ہی کہا جاتا رہا ہے۔ طالبان پڑہنا نہيں جانتے تھے يہ بھی ميرا خيال نہيں ہے شايد وہ انگريزی پڑھنا نا جانتے ہوں حالانکہ ميں نے خود طالبان کے نمائندہ کو سليس انگريزی ميں بھی بات چيت کرتے سنا ہے۔ اور لباس کے بارے ميں تعين ہر معاشرے کا مختلف ہے ايک معاشرے کے لئے قابل قبول لباس کسی دوسرے معاشرے کے لئے نا قبول ہو سکتا ہے۔ جب ہم لباس کے بارے ميں بات کرتے ہيں تو عموما اس ميں تعين اسلامی حوالے سے ہوتا ہے نا کہ مگرب کے حوالے سے
